PDA voice acting

Was this indian voice always the case for the PDA in sub zero? Unbearable

a) No, it wasn't. They started with the old voice from Subnautica.
b) There is no "voice acting". The recordings are from a text-to-speech engine.
c) People have been complaining about the voice since it was introduced, but the developers seem to insinst that this is what they want.

Sigh, first world problems. I personally like the voice acting myself, so it´s all subjective.

It's not voice acting. It is literally a text-to-speech algorithm exactly like Andreas said. No actress read those lines. A computer did.

I personally dislike the thing. The old one was better. This ground has been covered in dozens of threads at this point. It's a dead horse. The game's complete and it's not changing back.

On the plus side, this means one could use the PDA voice to say whatever they like, and have their fun that way.

As far as I understand, they are not using the TTS engine in the game. They recorded the lines using the TTS engine and the game is playing those recordings.
