Pets?

I'm pretty new to Below Zero, and I keep seeing people mentioning pets on old threads . . . can you or can you not have pets? If so, how do you get them?

Or is there a mod that introduces them?

there's two different trivalves that you can get eggs for, they're like the cuddlefish in the first game.

plus you can keep tanks of various bigger fish and all the little fish

(edit)one of the trivavle eggs are found somewhere across the bridge near the phi base. the other i found somewhere deep in a cave, can't remember which one
