I can see the icon for this thing, but can't get to it for the life of me. Any tips?

Move straight on top of it, and look for a nearby cave entrance.

I was eventually able to find it. Used the seaglide to do something similar to what you mentioned. Was finally able to find the tunnel that lead down to it

I've been using the Seaglide's mapping function A LOT more in BZ than in SN.
