Subnautica was a delicious meal and a tasy beverage enjoyed at a fine dining resteraunt with atmosphere and entertainment.
Below Zero is some guy delivering me a pizza but he trips and falls and throws the scalding hot pizza in my face. Oh and the 3 Liter of soda is completely flat and fizzes and explodes when I open it, and then the guy charges me an extra 10 bucks and expends a tip.
Yeah no.
I'm not sure anything can be done about Maida, and aside from being a carry over story remnant, AL-AN is probably the most palpable part of the storyline and gameplay with the most cohesion (Even if I prefer the older version of AL-AN the one we get currently isn't bad)
I do think..... some changes can be made, so that the game still hits the same beats and touches on the same points, and reaches the same conclusion, in such a way that makes sense and is satisfying enough to justify the investment into the experience.
I'm not sure how much of the story you've experienced, so hesitant to speak about it any further than what you bring up in your topic.
I kinda like Fred's voice actor, I think he gaves life and believable character to the role. What I mean is.....Fred "sounds" the way he "looks" if that makes sense. And the way he talks, his behavior. It's ...... believable. And that mustache........
The main character is one among many other dozens of very serious issues and flaws.
Once again here we go with people trying to invalite the opinion of those that have problems with the game, rather than addressing those problems.
This community is so divided, and UWE's "community manager" does n o t h i n g about it.
Let others have a different opinion than your's.
STOP attacking and harassing other users for not sharing your exact thoughts and feelings.
Keep the criticism to the game itself and leave other people's opinions out of it.
Especially if you can't in any way shape or form debunk or refute the reasonings behind anyone's opinion.
Below Zero earns what it gets.
I don't have any issue actually with Robin's VA, the first or this one. They are different, and you can like or prefer one over the other, but both gave a competent performance.
My bad.
I decide if its deserve it or not. Robin came to to 4546B to find her missing sister, as far as I know. Shes acting like she is on some great journey, voice actor dont understand her role here and I have no idea who was Ashley in Mass Effect. Add some new sweet looking creatures and we have a sequel that reminds me of some Disney/Pixar animations where original Subnautica was almost like a horror game at the end. Also map is smaller with more land exploration for a higher price (soon) - IMO those are all negatives. I would gladly paid 30$ for a large DLC with, lets say, 2-3 new maps and some new tools to original Subnautica without any story or voiceacting. They just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up and they blocking any thread that trying to criticise them for Robin. Im pretty sure that this one will be blocked too.
Adding to that, the character is annoying. The actual voice work might be ok, but I'd call it uninspired at best. I don't think that's due to any fault of the VA but rather due to the confusing story and the bad writing.
