Afterburner Upgrade is in the Detached Thruster of the Mercury 2. Horsepower Upgrade Fragments are located in Sea Monkey Nests within the Lilypad Island Caves.

Max speeds with and without horsepower upgrade. "0" means the cabin alone. For reference, the Seatruck travels at 9.18 m/s with no modules and the |player swims at about 5.9 m/s. Adding modules decreases total speed to a fixed percentage. Adding the Seatruck Horsepower Upgrade increases the speed by a fixed percentage. The final speed is shown in parentheses.

# of Modules / Max Speed Without Upgrade / Max Speed / Actual Speed Increase With Upgrade / Upgrade Speed Actual
0 / 100% / 9.18 m/s / +0% (100%) / 9.18 m/s
1 / 100% / 9.18 m/s / +0% (100%) / 9.18 m/s
2 / 66% / 6.14 m/s / +30% (87%) / 8.01 m/s
3 / 50% / 4.60 m/s / +35% (68%) / 6.21 m/s
4 / 40% / 3.67 m/s / +40% (55%) / 5.09 m/s

with the horse power upgrade i would recommend not using more than 2 modules at a time attached to the seatruck. that being said i do fully agree it is too slow and is in desperate need of an actual upgrade in speed.

the truly heartbreaking part of all of this is the fact that the Seaglide which is a handheld deployable vehicle that increases the user's top speed when held by 1.41 m/s. this means that the user travels at 7.31 m/s while consuming one battery and the seatruck that uses two power cells with the horsepower upgrade and 3 modules attached is slower.

interesting stats. out of curiosity what was the speed of the seamoth? The moth and glide never seemed to give a feeling of imbalance. Was the glide changed (thought I read they slowed it), if so what was its stat in the original as well?

original subnautica

The Seamoth is a small, versatile one-person submersible capable of sustained high-speed travel over considerable distances. It boasts an omnidirectional propulsion system that allows for lateral and vertical movement that gradually increases to a maximum of 11.25 m/s in any single direction.

the cyclops

Speed Setting / Energy Consumption Rate (Units/Min) / Velocity (Meters/Sec) / Efficiency (Meters/Unit)
Ahead Slow / 9 units/min / 7 m/sec / 45 m/unit
Ahead Standard / 20 units/min / 9 m/sec / 27 m/unit
Ahead Flank / 40 units/min / 12 m/sec / 16 m/unit

The Seaglide is a handheld deployable vehicle which increases the user's top speed when held. It can be crafted by using the Fabricator. The Seaglide occupies six slots in the player's inventory. It has a top speed of 11 m/s

this just makes matters even worse. the cyclops which had a great deal more storage and you could truly turn it into a mobile base with food growing, place to sleep, ect was faster than this seatruck espically if you add extra modules to it since the storage module is nothing but a bad joke in terms of extra inventory space.

I play the normal game not experimental. I dont want to lose all my progress

love the truck, don't care about the speed it's awesome. Just make two, 1 for zipping around and the other for either utility or as a mobile base ( I have 8 modules on mine and call it the "seatrain" it's awesome.

Wiki is out of date. In the recent patch theyve slowed it down by about 12% and its speed is around 7.9 M/s now with nothing attached. It's extremely painful to use IMO
⭐Rodent⭐ Aug 25, 2020 @ 10:13pm
Anyway, of course you will want to use all the modules ...
Marinxar Aug 26, 2020 @ 5:14am
Yeah...Seatruck needs TLC...and a lot of it.

The original design could bend etc. What we are left with is way too slow, too sluggish and too combersome to be useful.
Kupoflupo Aug 26, 2020 @ 9:35am
Seatruck wo modules is fine imo, but mabye a speed booster add on would be nice for some?
