How to drive the Spy Penglin?

So I crafted one OK, but it just stands there and stares at me defiantly. Is the scanner room meant to hook up with it, or am I missing some vital bit of tech?

You need the spy pengling remote to control it

Drop the penglin, click the remote.

Oh, and be sure to bundle up. Driving the pengling is so immersive it's easy to freeze without noticing.

I like to either stand on a warming vent or build an I compartment to sit in. worst case eat a heat fruit before sending into the area need it to go and keep trips short.

I have come out of a spy penguin mode to have a snow stalker that showed up, mawl me upon finishing.
