kyanite?
I know that there is no source of Kyanite in game at this time. I found a blueprint for the Prawn Thermal Reactor that requires it.

I can thing of several scenarios to explain it but it is not clear to me which one is right.

(1) Maybe the Thermal Reactor will not exist in BZ but the blueprint has not yet been removed.

(2) Maybe Kyanite will come into play later (although I was surprised to not find it in the spawnable item list while the reactor is).

(3) Maybe the Thermal Reactor blueprint is planned to stay but with different ingredients.

Basically, I was considering spawning the Kyanite or Thermal Reactor on the assumption that they will arrive in game later even if they are missing now... but I really don't want to spawn something that is planned to go away.

So, has anyone seen an announcement or discussion mentioning whether any of those scenarios is going to happen, or if there is a different plan for the Thermal Reactor... what it is?
(of course... it is entirely possible that the answer is (4)... they have not yet decided, but I figured I'd ask just in case they did)

The Prawn suit is so bugged, I wouldn't even consider anything about it until it's fixed.

In comparison with first chapter, Below Zero has way less volcanic regions, therefore even deep down, well below 900 meters mark the temperature is still too low for a thermal reactor to fully be able to recharge prawn suit.

That being said there are two outcomes:
  1. Thermal reactor is a leftover from previous plans that have been abandoned since then;
  2. New and proper volcanic zone is going to be added in future updates.
Either of these two.

CS#29512 should have fixed this.

Was that version released already, or is it the next one coming (outside of experimental)?

I found this (https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Update_History) but it is external and probably outdated.

Nice. There will be some now :)

I really want to believe that Kyanite is a placeholder material.... But I really don’t see it changing...

Latest experimental build has kyanite. Harvested enough to build both prawn suit depth module 2 as well as thermal generator with enough left over to do both again.

Look for it in the Crystal caverns with all the dead prawn suit arms

Below Zero is a stand-alone game. It takes place after the events of the original Subnautica on the same planet, but you don't have to own Subnautica to play Below Zero.

I went into the cave and didn't see Kyanite on my way down. Deleted cache and saw some on way out. It is possible I missed it on way down but more likely it wasn't spawning until I deleted cache. This is something you should do now and then if you have been playing for a while. For location of cache and instructions, search discussions for "hydraulic fluid" and read the first item up.

I just delete my entire game and start from scratch. Only way to be sure. On my sixth playthrough now. :p
