Console command question
I downloaded the bag mod, as I love the idea of more inventory space, since vehicle storage is not as convenient as in Subnautica. But for some strange reason the mod requires synthetic fibers to get the more meaningful bags and you cannot craft them in Below Zero (there is one near a frozen leviathan but you need that one for the reinforced diving suit).

I considered just granting myslff the item or using the command to set the bag size but most games (and I assume subzero is no exception) penalize you if you use a console command, for example by breaking steam achievements or having other penalties in game.

In other words either the game changed and no longer allows crafting synthetic fibers breaking the mod, or the mod was designed as a joke to begin with. I was about to give up but then thought:

Is there any way to grant myself the necessary synthetic fibers to create the bags without penalties? For example in some games there are alternate ways to execute console commands that do not trigger the "punishment" effects associated with commands.

But Below Zero has none at the moment. Also, the penality affects the current session and isn't saved. The moment you load your game again the game forgot you used commands in the previous session.

It might be unintended, so I'll make sure to create a ticket about that.

Excellent and thanks! I will grant myself some Synthetic Fibers, save, exit and reload.

I also reported the issue to the mod designer, just in case he decides to fix it.
hello, how did you activate the mods? I took the map that would be functional for this game, but the mods do not appear in the options, even by creating the QMODS folder. afterwards I also assume that mods are not allowed until the game is finished

Mods are usually very simple:

- Exit game.
- Copy mod to the qmods folder.
- If you want to change some configuration option supported by the mod, you edit a .json file mentioned in the mod description (although I never needed to do this).
- Start game.
- The mod starts working.

I had to create the QMODS folder in the game folder, which is in one of the steam folders, I struggled to find it; place the mods, as in subnautica, but nothing appears ... or else I did not put the QMODS folder in the right place. for me the map is really useful for exploring and avoiding going around in circles. I noticed in the 1st, that black areas, have not been explored and yet close to me

I think that is it... the QMOD comes as an Executable and it is supposed to create the QMOD folder for you as part of its installation process. You probably have it misinstalled.
I especially did not pay attention that there was a version for the game and subnautica ... I made the installation since, not yet testing if the mods are there or not

All fixed now, I hope?

You need the inventory AND bag mods to extend the inventory. AND (this is the reason why I made this thread) the bag mod assumes that you can get synthetic fibers that are not quite available in Below Zero.

I think I just stumbled on a reason for it to be intended intended... some items like the Prawn Suit depth modules are not yet available to find in the game.

So it seems that the only way to get them at this time might be to spawn them.

They aren't in the game indeed but that's unrelated.
