Distress call

so i've got a distress call which i followed to a cave with green pillars lighting up in a SOS pattern but nothing seems to happen here. does anyone know how to proceed after this? before this story update there was a similar alien technology in another cave which gave you some sort of companion who settled inside your head but now it's just here.

i also found some ion cubes in another cave where some sort of alien generators where located if this helps

im lost after getting the distress signal i couldnt find a cave. does anyone know if youre suppose to find sams base before you find the distress signal, i cant figure out where im suppose to find it

When you find the blinking pilars, you follow them and you will find something. No need to find Sam or anithing related to her prior to going to the pilars.

Well, there's not much to follow since there are only 2 blinking pillars. There's also a room after the pillars with a Stargate kinda structure

You're close to the snowfox base. The distress call is propagated to all glowing pillars, but the origin is the same: the sanctuary.
