Bladderfish?
I was playing the Seatruck update and I can't find any bladderfish. I've been searching all over and I can't find them anywhere. Did they move somewhere? Is my game just bugged?

It's the same for me. I've looked everywhere can't find any. So I restarted the game to see if it would fix it but i wasn't even able to load the save file.

Same here.. they seem to have disappeared. Not sure how else to get water early on.

I keep dying of thirst looking for them.

Yeah those fishes are nowhere to be found. You guys do know you can use those creepvine grapes as a water source right? those red glowing things that you craft with give +10 water each.
They can be found southeast of your pod.

eating cooked other fishes gives 3 to 5 fluid. So it's now a fish-eating game :diver:

I came to a strange conclusion after playing without Bladderfishes for awhile. IMO, this.. actually changes things for better. Survival is now more meaningfull. Breeding fishes or keeping vines for water resource would be awesome.

I returned to the game today after a long break, saw that I picked survival and though "ah.. that's shi*tty" as catching fishes was just time consuming inconvenience and nothing more". Now I find it interesting...

<Eyeye fish gives 10+ to hydration too. It would be awesome too if vines could respawn faster>

Yeah bladderfish run out after awhile, you're not meant to fully rely on them.
I remember in the original me scambling to find bladderfish and basically resulted in me eating lantern fruit and kelp to refill my thirst.

Makes me feel like this is as intended. Bladderfish are the early source of water, but by the time they run out, you're either needing to be farming them, or have some other source of water.

Yea, the bladderfish is gone in my savegame too...

After Only 1 or 2 Hours of gameplay??? Havent even seen any of the other ways yet...

I find it interesting when playing experimental mode, if bladder fish go extinct logging out/in will make them spawn. I am curious why it doesn't translate to the release.

Bladderfish aren't the only source of water. Other fish and creepvine seed clusters both give water.

I just started the subzero EA a couple of days ago after the SeaTruck update. I have maybe 10 hours in so far and I still see plenty of Bladderfish around, but they're just not as plentiful near the starting area which is where I likely over fished them. This makes sense to me, it was like this in the original SubNautica also where the shallows began to show less and less of them after a while. I'm hopeful that by the tiem the full game is released, that you will have water filtration tech long before you care about bladderfish population depletion.

The EyeEye fish are now my new primary food, as they kill two birds with one stone - A great source of water +10 and nutrition at once.

pretty much, if you solely rely on them yeah you'll overfish them and they go extinct in that area.
Were still in early EA so other methods havent been implimented yet, but judging from sub1 where we had other methods, including the water treatment plant, we can expect them to be added back in.

If you really want you can delete your cache folder and it'll reset all resources and chests in the map.
