Leviathan killing weapon?
Man i wish they add a weapon capable of blowing off the head of a reaper leviathan or any other ugly mofo out there, i remember my first encounter with a reaper in subnautica and it scared the hell out of me, it also enraged me, i wanted to get out of my seamoth and shove my boot in its ugly face, if i had a proper weapon (stasis rifle + pocket knife don't count) i'd hunt every leviathan down and mount their heads in my seabase, that'd be cool, taking trophies :)

Just need leviathan killing torpedoes and a torpedo module to add to vehicles and bases.

no. they have already explained why no too.

The devs are pro gun control and thus they are forcing their political views on their clients.

That is why no weapons in game.

But still easy to kill leviathans in the game, all you need to do use natural instinct. i killed 1(ghost leviathan) without a stasis gun and only viro blade .. did not die once.

Parked behind a rock it agro'd to me i stabbed it and as it swam back to restart sequence i got into my vehicle to get some o2 then got out and started again ... took a few minutes but had leviathan free biome.

You don't take an AK-47 fishing, there is no need to have guns in a game that's about exploration/building ....... and using you brain to survive ... i never understood the need to have torpedoes in SN1 it detracted from the USE YOUR BRAIN to survive.

that being said allowing the knife to be upgradeable to a spear (fishing spear) would fit in with the game theme without being out of place.

i heard this before, i'm sure the leviathans agree with you, i for one feel more confident with a harpoon gun in my hand or cruising around in a submarine capable of launching cluster torpedoes at a giant creature that wants to eat me, the first game i understand being marooned on an oceanic hostile planet using your wits to survive is vital but in below zero whats the excuse now that alterra corporation has a more permanent presence, wouldn't arming your planetside employees be rational instead of "hey lets send you down to this ocean world populated by giant predatory monsters without any real means of defending yourself, what could go wrong?"

Devs wanted to make a game that wasn't about killing.
Playing the wrong game if that's what you're after.

I will reference my earlier quote about courage:

No you take a harpoon. That and many other waterbased offensive weapons will fit into this game.

But they will not be added into the game because, as the devs have said time and time again, this game is not about being able to fight things.

Or: It's a game for kids and rated as such.

Just because a game doesn't feature a focus on violence it's for kids? And rated as such how? Does having won awards for Best Survival Game, Best Exploration Game, and PC Game of the Year somehow signify that it's for kids?

None of those awards would, how should they? Just made that assessment based on the overly cute monster design (Sea Dragon) and the target audience. SN was popularized by streamers and YouTubers with large followings of underaged viewers (Kids). There were countless threads here made by parents asking if this game is scary or has violence.

The lack of violence does not constitute a kids game, or vice versa.

i like the game, its the jumps scares that get me, they make me feel so helpless, i wanna get back at the monster that made me jump off my seat xD y'know, revenge missile in face kind, i once used the console cheats to get back at a reaper funny thing is the god mode cheat made it unkillable :)) so i was there poking its eyes with my knife for a few minutes then i was like "y'know what, i'm outta here" so i went back to the biome near the safe shallows and built one big seabase
