Simple recharge battery method.
This new subnautica, below zero has not implemented battery charger blueprints yet. Seems to me that there is a simple method of recharging all those batteries.
There is quite a bit of QUARTZ out there, so pick up a few.. make a glass. (near 1st popup)
Then, making sure your empty battery is the only one in your inventory, make a FLASHLIGHT.
Equip your flashlight, unequip your spanking charged battery (r).
Enjoy.

Same thing with the scanner, only you use 1 titanium instead of 2 quartz.

Very true. But the thing is, without recyclable metal scrap, you're going to be able to mass loot quartz much faster than titanium.
Food for thought.

You can scan the re-spawning fragments, gets you 4 titanium per. But yeah, in some areas, quartz is much more plentiful.

There are a lot of parts (seaglide, grav trap, etc) to scan that give you titanium once you've gotten the blueprint, so for some folks that might be cheaper. :) I didn't realize the flashlight was just glass, I thought there was more to it. But both are good options, depending on what works better for you. My only problem is then you just litter the landscape with your wasted tools, because you don't have the blueprint for the trash can yet. :D

You can also make the Pathfinder tool with 5 creepvines and no battery at all. Then use it for it's 20 discs and take the battery out of it, it still has over 90%. No acid plants required.
I like to use my empty batteries to make new tools. The requirements are for a battery, not a FULL battery. :P
We seriously need a battery recharger. I hope it's part of ACT II.

I feel dumb now. These hacks are genius for stock pilling cheap batteries. I have been doing it wrong. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

From what I've been reading, the battery charger blueprint will be rewarded for completing the first part of the storyline. Until then, glass, titanium or creepvines might be the only way to survive.
I wonder if there will be a way to charge them inside the seatruck. As far as I've tested, it does not seem to be possible (only fabricator is available, and you can't build in there like a cyclops).
Crossing fingers...
