Mini-Map
Excuse me, can I get a damn Mini-Map?! I have all this advanced technology and you're telling me I can't draw a crayon map and know where I am on it? Give me a way to conceptualize where in the biomes I am without freakin' memorizing it. I don't need underwater maps, just a damn surface map.

When you find a new biome drop a beacon, rename the beacon.

or you can download a map using the qmods which is at this website: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnauticabelowzero

first using the qmods wizard select below zero and install the modification loader

then go to the website again, find what your looking for and download the mod.

then go to your drive/local disk/program files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/subnauticazero/Qmods there you will move the downloaded file and click 'extract here' using winrar.

And congratulations you have successfully installed a mod for subnautica.\

also make sure to login or register first

The lack of a map in the first game made sense story wise.

It makes sense to me in this one right up until you regain communications. Then just a surface map should be available to you.

Yeah...I know how to mod...that's not my point in providing feedback for the development in this game. As for beacons, yeah, obviously, but it doesn't change the fact that the map is convoluted enough to require a map in order to find certain [insert spoiler here] people after getting past a certain point in the game.

It really bad without map, as said before - many tecnology and no map, wtf ?
if you dont want to give a map to players for free - make some buildings on base for map - like gps beacons - minimum 3 to 5 to triangulate your current position, with some requirements to build - like 500-1000 meters away from each, and 100-200m in depths from each other - so players need to build some bases with energy, to maintain gps. And operators building - let it generat map, after yopu scan it with some toolkit.

Some bad grammar aside, yes to all of this. Now the scanning room is nice, and literally serves the purpose of what we're talking about, AND HAS A REMOTE LINK DEVICE FOR OUR SUIT. Were's my map?

It's one of the many holes this one has which for me just breaks it. I feel it's become a 'we have to push forward because we've invested too much into it' release which is fine but tacking on a new story to a completed world.. Yeah, it's going to be pants. - But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Eh, they'll figure it out, it's less that they're tacking on the story and more that because all the edges aren't smoothed out that it's making it feel that way. When you don't progress story line smoothly in a game it feels broken, they're getting that stuff worked out bit by bit and our feedback will help greatly, just gotta be concise about it.

I'm all for a map since I'm playing a fresh sn run again with it. It's nice but I also know the vanilla experience. For the first time I wouldnt want to use one.

In bz.. the only biomes which kill my orientation are the land ones lol. Everything looks the same.. a nightmare with the new weather system. Underwater biomes are all so small that a map isn't needed. You know the locations after 10 minutes diving. Even with the current density of sharks, everywhere.

This. Just a surface map. The fun of the game underwater (and the challenge) is finding your way, and we have beacons as others have stated. I just have no idea how to find the mean chick without using a guide and can't see any way I would be able to without a guide, that's not conducive to modern games.
