Yes, you can guide them somewhat, you keep moving the mouse against what the pinnacarid is trying to do. It's clunky and inaccurate by design, because it's not a tame creature, but you can steer it somewhat.
That's good to know but cannot be tamed is a bit down. Regards being stung it occurred about three times in a row repeatedly as I was riding so that made me think it was objecting to having me on board. "Must have been something we haven't seen yet" ! (had to get an old movie quote in ....sorry)!
- First he will follow you for a while, trying to protect you from sharks.
- Second if you ride it he will let you take control without opposition.
This behavior only last a while.
