No No. I know that it is better this way than a wall like Fallout4.

Nope. According to the discussion and info from the forum, it is the same planet. (I personally hope that it is wrong though...)

so yes its on the same planet and yes if you finnish the first game you can see the artic zone just before you slingshot yourself out the planets atmosphere
