Can't find Lithium

I can't find Lithium. I've read it's in the vent areas around Rocket Island, but I haven't found any in Thermal Spires and I'm not going to the other 2 places yet. I know it's in Deep Twisty Bridges (I only found enough to make the seatruck aquarium module), but I don't wanna head there either, and I probably won't find a lot again. It could be likely that the reason I barely found any lithium in deep twisty is that I was sticking to the walls, caves, and low to the ground (not too low though, because spiky traps) just to avoid squidsharks. I really don't wanna use commands on my main save. I did search in the little crevices of the Thermal Spires, too, so...
I'd go to Purple Vents for some if I had a PRAWN suit (so I can beat the chelis and bonesharks up), but I don't.
edit: Turns out there isn't any in Thermal Spires. I don't know who found Lithium in Thermal Spires, but it probably wasn't. I brought the mineral finder with me, and it didn't beep at all.

Purple vents isnt that dangerous or deep and the lithium is bountiful there, you can get an arm load in a very short time...I would say its worth the risk to make a trip if you really need lithium.

Or not. Whenever I start heading over in it's direction, I just get this "don't go there" feeling in my gut.

I built a base with a scanner 50 meters from the shore of the rocket island right by where walkways are. Using the scanner with 1 range extender is showing me loads of lithium and lead. This is a screenshot I took about 150-200 meters from my base between the smoking vents and a more golden colored area where there are bone sharks. This is shallow where these are. Most of it is deep.

This is basically the purple vent area btw.

I generally put a base either in the Thermal vents on Lilypads, get a really good scanner range and you are golden for detecting Lithium. Stick to crevases and its a smorgasboard for fragments too.

I can't find lead, so game over for me till next update. I can't tell where I am placing base pieces either. For some reason I have tons of lithium.

I just found a bunch way out under that big jelly. Way down deep.

Purple Vents mostly, there are likely other places I haven't found yet, but the PV area is where you'll find early game Lithium. They're usually found on flat grey areas among the vents, with salt deposits. You'll find on average about 12ish Lithium drops in this area. So don't go crazy

The breakable Lead is hard to see, make sure you have a good light. 8-)

The bigger problem is that you get 90% titanium from the breakable lead..

Not that bad, I get maybe 2 out of 3 titanium.

Yeah, I exaggerated a bit. But it is still a lot worse than it should be imo since it specifically says "lead." And when the scanner finds "lead" it should be lead, not titanium. Don't mind my complaining though, I'm not bashing the game or anything like that.

I'm thinking that the devs needed to place the items in-game for testing, but didn't want to break balance too much. So they nerfed the resources enough to (maybe) balance, temporarily.

Or maybe they just wanted us to swim around more, to test out the environment?

I need Lithium, not Lead. Lead is easy to find compared to Lithium
