game not recognizing gamepad?

i plugged my gamepad into a usb within the actual tower of my pc. nothing. reset the game. nothing. the controller is on, but sunset overdrive isnt reading my inputs through the gamepad. would really prefer not to play on keyboard and mouse, it feels funky. anyone know whats up?

I usually have to get out of the main menu and into the game before my controller works.

Yeah, that might be a Windows 10 issue.

Funny because I'm playing with Windows 7, which isn't even officially supported by this game, yet game pad works. But Windows 10 IS officially supported and game pad isn't working for you.

yeah, this is a bittersweet surprise. well, at least im becoming more familiar with the alternate controls. still feel like itd be more enjoyable with a gamepad. hella inconvenient, ive wanted this game since release. </3

Same issue here. I'm in the game itself, the controller still isn't doing anything

EDIT: Restarting my PC fixed this for me

Im using a ps4 controller with bluetooth and it works fine for me.

Is there any chance that OP is using Sweetfx/Reshade with the game?

im using a xbox one contoller no problems at all. now mouse and keyboard thats a different story

It's nothing to do with Win 10, I'm playing on Win 10 with sn Xbox One controller fine.

Same here. Xbox One Elite in my case.

I would suspect OP is having an issue with a background process hogging the gamepad.

well, i did restart my pc to see if maybe that were the case. still nothing. there isnt any other program that would access the gamepad running.
