The Game Just Won't Launch.
Ryzen 7 2700x 1070 16gb of ram , So I know it's not a spec issue, I'm hearing bad things about certain firewalls and antivirus's needing to be dropped to make the game work, I really hope that's not the case. Anyone having similar issues ?

yeah, but a simple exclusion took care of that for me. It's my first course of action these days when a game just goes nowhere at launch. Seems to be happening more and more recently.

So , In my case I'll have to turn off file shield for the game in Avast to get it to run? , I agree this does seem to be a more common problem of recent , I really hope it doesn't trend more , otherwise we will be missing the day where games only needed day one patches :P

My game won't launch either but I'm using Bitdefender Total Security 2019. I'm not getting any sort of message that Sunset Overdrive is being blocked from launching from Bitdefender. Specs are not a problem as well.

Specs:
Geforce 1080
Intel Core I7-4790K
16 GB RAM

Same problem with me. Might as well give it a try i guess D:

It's worth a try, I'm reinstalling and swapping drives with the exclusion now , But It may be a refund job if this doesn't work, which would be a damn shame because Iv'e wanted to get my hands on this since it launched on the xbox back in the day.
I also cannot launch at all. Hit launch, says I'm playing the game on Steam for about 5 seconds, then it disappears and nothing ever opened.

I updated my NVidia driver manually and turned off my avast shields. I'm guessing the antivirus thing worked but I made sure everthing was up to date just in case.

Well , If it's working for you now I'm glad Budha , I would assume it was the Antivirus Shield stopping it as that is the most common cause I'm seeing everywhere atm

Did that and it didn't work, still can't play the game.

So Just to let people know , if running avast antivirus you have to allow the sunset overdrive file location through as an exclusion on both the File and Behavour sheild components after that the game should boot fine. I Hope this helps

Yep. With win 8.1
> Didn't launch
> Updated nvidia drivers, didn't launch
> Shut down Avast's protection for a minute. Launched. And seem's to be working.

Go to Bitdefender. Select protection tab, advanced threat defense settings. Add Sunset.exe to excepted applications list.

This is a problem with antiviral\firewall software. Sometimes adding the game into exceptions helps. Sometimes not. Even fully disabling this software may not help. The only sure way to solve the problem is to completely uninstall ALL third party antiviruses and firewalls and then reboot your PC. (windows defender is ok it seems, no need to to do anything with it). Not sure if the game worth it though. But here is the fix.
