I read earlier that win7 was fine, just hadnt been mentioned on steam - I guess just an error in description. Went ahead and bought the game, downloaded - installed, blasted through char creation and skipped intro cinematic - game was running flawlessly at 1080p / 60fps constant and with 2xSMAA.

All seems good - Looking forward to sinking my teeth into it tomorrow :)

Yeah - I wouldnt worry, everything should be perfectly fine. I read from a thread on resetera that a partnered keyseller of the game had the minimum requiremesnts listed as win7 sp1, so that was enough for me to give it a shot. All paid off thankfully.

Well I wanted 10 now anyway so glad it worked for you 7 guys.

if it doesnt work then im gonna be pissed at insomniac for not supporting my prefered os because i cant stand windows 10 at all its a bad os right now and if it does work ill say it does but what sucks is that other devs are still supporting windows 7 today as well

Windows 7 is long gone as a modern os, it's time to upgrade.

It works fine for everything I need it to do.

I don't refuse personally, but Windows 10 is not mature enough. October update was a mess. I always wait a long while before switching (when I switched to Seven, Eight was already available), to be sure to have something very stable.

I guess I'll switch when most AAA will only work on Windows 10, which might take a few years (I thought it was the first Steam game which required Windows 8 or higher, but it seems not as it also seems to work fine on Windows 7).

Note that I personally don't blame developpers, like someone did in a previous post. I'm interested in State of Decay 2, it's Windows 10/Microsoft Store only, I just don't buy the game, I don't blame developpers.

also i still own consoles so i dont have to play pc completely and i mostly play on my consoles

I have a PS4 but I rarely use it, I haven't even bought RDR2...

Im running W7 Home Premium SP1 and the game runs and launches perfectly fine. :otrv::story:

It works yes.

Well I'm glad that it works for all the Win7 users, my original comment wasn't meant as a slight. If you want to keep up with trendy games that you can't find on your consoles, you may have to eventually upgrade. You can setup Win10 to look and operate exactly like Win7, I've done it for hundreds of laptops for my work. So in the back end it's alll the Win10 newness with the format/OS you're used to.
I am running on win7 and i tell you this game can run on Win7.But if run on Win7 this game will met some texture problem.Well.... Others told me that the problem is cuz of Win7.

And he was never heard from again \o/... That Win7 requirement is no joke it seems!
