Report a translation problem
Within there are four folders that correspond to your save slots. Within those folders are both your save game and backup save games. You can enable a backup save by renaming the two files from profile-backup.FILETYPE -> profile.FILETYPE (taking care to also backup your existing save just in case.
This is a rather nasty issue and we are aware of it and are fixing probable causes as they pop up. Right now, however, there isn't really another way to save your save file than to revert to a backup save.
