A question about the fishing thing: I thought the fishing spots didn't regenerate? So how can you farm them infinitely? Has that been changed, or have I misunderstood something? (I don't really understand why those spots are finite anyway. If there are rare resources that can only be found there but they don't regenerate, then surely most people simply won't be lucky enough to get the rare ones? I'm very confused!)
The fishing mechanics in this game are so confusing. Honestly a lot of mechanics are confusing. Like, there's essentially a finite amount of resources in the game since things don't respawn after you break them (yes, it seems like you can farm most things by fighting monsters, but that's very slow and very random and only works if you haven't blocked them from respawning in an area). And if you die, your corpse stays there with all your stuff so you can get it back. But if you die on your way back to get your corpse, it disappears, and so does everything you dropped. So theoretically if you're bad enough at the game and die a lot, you could run out of resources (or at the very least, make it much harder to find what you need when you need it). It's like they're trying to take the "souls dropping" mechanic from the Souls games, except in those games, souls are absolutely infinite and can always be replaced with minimal effort. In this game, the stuff you drop isn't infinite, so the risk of losing it feels like an odd choice. (I nearly lost my first few pieces of steel and some other higher-tier resources early on because I almost died running back to get my corpse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Luckily I survived with just a couple of HP but holy crap it stressed me out... Why not just leave multiple corpses on the map instead of deleting the old one if you die again?)
Thank you so much for explaining!
FYI after playing the main game and the DLC's I ended up with 12 Namazu AND 8 Blue Eye Orb's! WHY would I require these amounts AND why are there recipes that heal a heck of a lot more HP than what I ended up with? Are these recipes even needed? Maybe we will find out one of these days!
