Without the DLC? Yes and you still have 1 or 2 left over after finishing the main quest. Though with the DLC to be on the safe side I would (and I did so myself) finish the main quest first and keep some obelisks deactivated until then. Sadly I'm not at the point of having gotten all orbs and activated all transmissions and completed all obelisks. As such I can't give a conclusive answer.

I just checked my inventory and I still have ONE blue eye orb that I haven't used despite clearing all achievements. I have to warn you that, sometimes, you will feel desperate in finding one during the game BUT they are all there. Enjoy, it is a fun and challenging game!

I searched a bit and according to this fandom site (spoilers on this site): https://dysmantle.fandom.com/wiki/Blue_Eye_Orb you need a total of 34 blue eye orbs and can gain 35. Apparently you can even farm them endlessy from special fishing spots. So everything is fine.

A question about the fishing thing: I thought the fishing spots didn't regenerate? So how can you farm them infinitely? Has that been changed, or have I misunderstood something? (I don't really understand why those spots are finite anyway. If there are rare resources that can only be found there but they don't regenerate, then surely most people simply won't be lucky enough to get the rare ones? I'm very confused!)

Of course, the chance is higher at fishing spots. But you can theoretically sit somewhere on the water and fish. One or two fish will come there too. But as far as the really rare things are concerned, I haven't had a problem at the spots (waves in the water). I think that the things you need will drop there at some point.

Oh, so even after it says it's all fished out, you can still fish there with the same loot table? If that's the case, then what is the purpose of the marked spots? I'm specifically looking for the blue eye orbs. If I go to the fishing spot on the map and fish there for a while will one eventually drop? Or is that only a rare chance at the spots until they're fished out?

The fishing mechanics in this game are so confusing. Honestly a lot of mechanics are confusing. Like, there's essentially a finite amount of resources in the game since things don't respawn after you break them (yes, it seems like you can farm most things by fighting monsters, but that's very slow and very random and only works if you haven't blocked them from respawning in an area). And if you die, your corpse stays there with all your stuff so you can get it back. But if you die on your way back to get your corpse, it disappears, and so does everything you dropped. So theoretically if you're bad enough at the game and die a lot, you could run out of resources (or at the very least, make it much harder to find what you need when you need it). It's like they're trying to take the "souls dropping" mechanic from the Souls games, except in those games, souls are absolutely infinite and can always be replaced with minimal effort. In this game, the stuff you drop isn't infinite, so the risk of losing it feels like an odd choice. (I nearly lost my first few pieces of steel and some other higher-tier resources early on because I almost died running back to get my corpse, and I nearly had a heart attack. Luckily I survived with just a couple of HP but holy crap it stressed me out... Why not just leave multiple corpses on the map instead of deleting the old one if you die again?)

As Hukelbubi said. You CAN catch fish in a fished out or non fished area BUT the catch rate is much, much lower than a fully "charged" fishing spot.
Secret Foxfire Sep 15, 2023 @ 1:36pm
Aha, okay, I think I understand then. So it's like, when you first arrive there, there's a bonus to your rates for the first few casts. Then the bonus runs out and the rates drop significantly and stay that way forever. Again, I think it's a weird game design choice, but at least it's theoretically possible to catch the rare stuff eventually.

Thank you so much for explaining! :er_heart:

To be honest I would go for quite a long time not catching any of the rare species and suddenly, in one spot, catch three. You just need to be persistent and not let the game get to you.
FYI after playing the main game and the DLC's I ended up with 12 Namazu AND 8 Blue Eye Orb's! WHY would I require these amounts AND why are there recipes that heal a heck of a lot more HP than what I ended up with? Are these recipes even needed? Maybe we will find out one of these days!

Just checked my inventory. After completing the main game as well as the two DLCs I still have 8 blue eye orbs and I know that I did all of the obelisks! I have completed everything ( except not dying! ) but am still missing one beam gun battery. Because of that I am doing Ascension on the second DLC. It also helps me regain my "touch". Oh, I'm level 132 at this time.
