Wood, any forest will do, provided you've upgraded your machete/axe. If you can't cut the big trees, just focus on the smaller trees. Search around towns and break wooden objects, some of them will also give wood.
South of where you are is a pretty large forest.
Hello thanks for the quick answer.
I guess I wasn't expecting to have to grind so much, I thought you just had to grind has you progressed into the game, not that I would have to backtrack to hit everything.
Unfortunately that's kind of a deal breaker to me, I don't really have the patience to just hit stuff non stop until I gathered enough.
But I played for +20hours and I'm not complaining, I guess I got everything I could out of the game.
Maybe I'll cheat some of the ressources just to see the rifle and maybe the end game.
Thank you again for your quick answer
Yeah, like I said, when my stuff was fully upgraded, I stopped, because it didn't made sense anymore, I had no idea you would had to convert basic ressources into advanced ressources. And at some point in the game breaking stuff stopped being fun.
But really, I feel like I broke a lot of stuff lol, but clearly I didn't, no big deal.
2. Don`t bother with farming or melting scrap metal. You also don`t really need to convert scrap wood, there will be plenty of easy to get planks later.
3. Consider dysmatling "cemetery" fences. They drop a lot, and there is always a bunch clustered together. They can also be found at villas/mansions and around ruins in starting location.
4. Pay attention to power poles. They are placed along every road that connects places. You travel them a lot anyways. This is a good source of resources.
5. Don`t bother leveling houses, take what you need - power boxes and cookers.
6. Use scrap wood as fuel.
7. Woodcutters outfit + upgraded Axe + Motorcycle helmet = easy wood & leaves.
8. As soon as you get your first batches of resources which are used to make melters, forget about the place where the first one is. Build own melters/sawmills near tower+storage.
9. If you plan to complete the game fully, not just the story, then don`t grind what you don`t need right now for your objective. I ended up with tons of stuff by the time i did 100%. End game farming is MUCH faster.
So I gave it another try but there's no place to go.

2 of the red circles are blocked by poison clouds, the south is blocked by a gate, the terminal is on the other side, and same if I want to access the middle of the map, there's a locked gate with a terminal on the other side.
I found the katana even I assume it's an upgrade from the scythe ?
I appreciate any directions
There is a Crowbar, which is just a starting weapon.
There are 2 end game weapons that "combine" all the bonuses.
Everything else is unique and is not an upgrade of others.
Katana can hit multiple enemies, nothing else does.
Scythe can hit multiple obstacles. Again, nothing else does.
However, due to (absolutely reasonless and totally moronic imo) decision to limit active weapon/tool slots for keyboard users, all of that makes little practical sense. Katana still has nothing to do with scythe tho.
Thank you!
I agree, a simple weapon wheel would have been way better for this, for this reason I almost never fish or dig stuff.
The main source of steel for me, as well as a source of planks as it happens, are the telephone poles. They line most of the roads in the game. You can get lots of iron (4 per section) from the iron girder fences, such as the one that surrounds the cemetery south of the starting region. Dead trees, the ones with no leaves on them, give you 2 planks each.
I actually knew that but I'm very very lazy lol, I find that to be tedious unfortunately.
Thanks, I'll try to focus on that.
But I'm still stuck right now :/,I can't find another way to the poisoned cloud, I'm starting to suspect there's some kind of bug (like I have the sanctuary quest but nothing to do at the farm) or I'm really missing something
