There are three farms that I know of; here is the order I found them. (This is also probably also in order of difficulty to reach.)
The Packard Family Farm is by a Link Relay located a little north east from starting town. This also has a quest / tutorial that teaches you how to farm. There is also a campfire immediately next to this, which is helpful when you harvest a full field.
While Evans Farmhouse is almost immediate south of your bunker (where you start the game), it isn't an easy trip. The whole starter town is surrounded by a thick wall, and there isn't a campfire nearby, so you'll have to run back and forth a bit if you have a full harvest.
To get to the Tropical Farm, start at the campfire adjacent to the Link Station located in the most south east section of the map. From there, first walk east a little, then either go south then east (my preferred path) or east then south. (The tropical area has some slightly harder monsters, and you'll need to craft some gear to handle the hotter weather.)
Note: as tempting as it may be to cook some recipes right away, prioritize growing crops. Harvesting each planted area yields more food than you originally planted, so waiting a few planting cycles means you won't have a food shortage.
Easy enough to plant 1 single crop so it shows up magenta on the map. I started doing that yesterday after searching for a list of farms and realising that there really wasn't one. I also started using the Digital Watch while hoeing and planting, it helps a lot.
Jeez... I`m lvl 40 and didnt know that.
It's not just the signs. The location is actually called Sanctuary Farm by the game, both on the map and when you enter the area.
