Stuck on trying to aim a cannon bug
I'm at this place . Playing on a Vive. Reeeally hard to aim. I try to pull the magic string-thing from the bug towards the target and press the right pad as I was instructed to by the game, but the bug just goes crazy and shoots EVERYWHERE (mostly to the right of ME). Am I missing something here? Am I doing it wrong or does this are need some extra work?

Very impressed so far either way. It's like looking into a little dollhouse or.. less blocky lego set. Thank you developers!

Unsure about the Vive controls, but on Rift's Touch controllers, it shoots in the direction the analog stick is held in, relative to where you're currently looking with the headset. So I presume where you press on the touch pad on Vive's controllers would be the equivalent in this case?

Hopefully that’s just what I messed up. Will try it tomorrow. Thank you!

Hey Niklas, thanks for the question. Genexi2 is correct, the controls for shooting the Scorcher are to think of the right track pad as a thumb stick the same way you use the left track pad to move Quill. Your hand position when holding the enemy does not effect the aim.

Thanks!

Yup, s/he was correct. Maybe make the in game see through controller that comes up a bit more easier to read? Like a little extra shining ball-thingy on the trackpads edges or something. I thought the grips where a bit too pronounced as well and started wondering if those had something to do with it too. Or I was just stupid, wouldn’t be the first time 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks guys, I was stuck at the first level that required canon aiming, but using the right track pad works.

Were you able to do this? Because I just don't seem te be able to. Because Quill keeps on responding to the right track pad even though I'm using it to control the bug. So whenever I try to aim it to the right Quill will jump and the whole sequence gets reset. I'm never able to open the third door that way. Very frustrating.

So I was finally able to pass this by weirdly positioning myself to make this work. Given that I couldn't use the right part of the trackpad or Quill would jump off the plate and the sequence would reset I needed to make sure to use only the left side (which is the sword attack, but if you position Quill facing into the niche where the button is she will stay on the plate). So in the end I had to look all the way to the right (hardly being able to see what I was doing) and shoot somewhat left of center to open the third grate. Very frustrating. (But not as frustrating as the snake sequences later in the game, god I hate those)

You don’t have to click the pad to fire the cannon as you do to make Quill jump. Just touch it and the bug will fire.

OMG thank you sooo much, I was stuck here and it was always aiming at the same spot no matter what... and indeed, it was because I was PRESSING the sword pad instead of BRUSHING the right pad (like using to move Quill)
