Is it POSSIBLE to make it work without VR?
I'm sorry, I'm poor and really like 3D puzzle platformer type things.

Yeah, same here, I loved the game right when i saw it, very Mouse Guard like, but its probably the only game that caught my eye that's on a VR system so, would love to play it if its possible, without it. ( Although I assume not since the shop already says so)

The game is made for VR in mind and therefore should only be played in VR. I'm playing it now and it is amazing. Just get a VR headset and stop complaining about non-vr versions. Play it in VR or not at all. Most of the magic would be lost on a flat screen anyway.

+1 for non-VR.

To tell someone to stop complaning is an elitist attidue that isn't really welcome here. there are many reasons why people don't have or won't purchase a VR headset, anywhere from the equipment being way to expensive with a very limited selection of titles to use such equipment on. to people such as myself who have vision issues which would prevent me from using a VR headset to it's full capabilities.

I won't deny it, there does need to be more quality VR titles avaiable, but until the tech becomes mainstream I think a lot of developers are shooting themselves in the foot here with going with a VR Only experience. Right now, I really do think that developers need to do a combination of both VR and non VR titles. that way they can get their products to more users. and for the early adopters of the tech, they will get something a little extra to look forward to.

Nuh uh. People said the same about Star Trek Bridge Crew and Battlezone and those are both now great non-VR games.

Why does everyone who has VR have to say that their games should never be played outside of VR? Its pretty weird, actually. Do you see people that don't have VR say "Hell no, that game should never be on VR!!" No, you don't. So what is wrong with you getting to play it in VR and those that don't want to get VR getting to play it without VR?

Glad you do not want Beat Saber or Sprint Vector in Non VR mode as this wouldn't work either.

As for Moss - i think it would work if the dev put some more work on it...but...
You could center the view on quill all the time, so this would take care of the "headmovement". Then you could do a static pointer(center in the middle or right) and you could point on things and intereact with them.

But what will that achieve? you will end up with a pretty easy, very short and not very engaging game.
In VR however..well....it is like if you are there. It feels like a miniature train world and you are right in it (similar to the game "Kin"). So much would get lost in translation that it wouldn't be worth getting it to non VR. Just look up some gameplay videos and you will see why this would be a bad idea.

It would be like bringing Job Simulator, or Budget Cuts to non vr. Guess it is possible but those games are made for VR and wouldn't be fun without. You are interacting and participating in a world that wasn't possible before. That kind of presence is just not possible without VR.

Elite Dangerous, Battlezone, Bridge Crew, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and others....they are working fine - yes. But it is really something different to play this game in VR.

We have a new format with VR that makes us play in a completely new way. Why would devs hold back the format just to work on both? I rather want them to use VR to its full potentially to give us new experiences that we can’t have on a flat screen. More reasons for people to get VR is a great thing. I’m happy we have so many VR only games and I hope we get lots more. Some games can work in both VR and flat but i want devs to explore the possibility with VR. U can do things in VR that I can’t on a screen and that’s a great thing.

Some games work in both and some don’t. The reason we say that is because in most games there are mechanics that actually would not work or work badly on a screen. The hole point of some games are that they are in VR and would be considered ♥♥♥♥ on a flat screen. In moss for example u want to look around corners or walk around in the world. Some collectibles u can’t even see if u don’t stand up and look around in the world. I don’t know how I would do that in a good way on a flat screen. This is the problem with all people that haven’t tried good VR with 6dof. They just don’t understand it.

After finishing the game in 3 hours it was a blast i still expect to go back and try and collect everything... now today i let my 5 year old son play it and watched him play on the screen and the game doest not look anywhere near as good as it does on the headset and because he kept having some trouble navigating quill around i tried controlling her while he was wearing the headset...... NIGHTMARE its so hard judging the distance for the jumps while looking at it through the flat screen and again the wonder and beauty of the game is mostly muted in 2d

I've seen you posting all over defending your $1200+ VR stuff. You're so insecure that VR is dying/dead it's embarrassing.

I feel sorry for you.

I watched the trailer and looked at the screenies and I am honestly a little confused here.
VR is supposed to be first person immersion, this is a 3rd person platformer where the trailer had me wondering if you have to shout "Hey! Listen!" into the microphone...

Dont get me wrong, the game looks beautiful and fun, I'm just not seeing anything in it, gameplaywise, that would make playing on a flat screen impossible or even much different.

There are many games that shouldn’t be in VR. One of them is The Witness. Some of its puzzles are built around the interplay of screen space and world space. The puzzles wouldn’t work in stereoscopic 3D.

Another game that wouldn’t work is Portal. The change of gravity when going through portals would make most people nauseous and could even cause them to fall over.
