And here we are, back to some visual novels I'm amassing in my library!
This one has a suspicious 100 achievements (the new late-2018 Steam limit, we were used to 5000 achievements per game xD) with an extremely high and constant (more than 65%) ratio of players who own them and.. ok, let's keep them where they are xD
The game's made in Unity and, in fact, it's quite a simple and minimalistic kinetic visual novel, meaning that you'll have a story to follow without decisions to make and so on. No surprises that there are no achievements related to endings or easter eggs or whatever else.. :P
The game features still some basic options - save, load, auto and such. Though, there are no options related to text speed or whatever else - in fact, the skip options works rather like a "skip this scene" and you'll get always transported into another one. In order to go on with the story, you simply have to click.
Or if you keep Auto on, well, just read :P
While the soundtrack is quite boring and minimalistic (luckily there's no 0,99€ DLC for a single track.. I seen worse things xD), the artwork in my view is really amazing. Backgrounds are stunning, and the characters are drawn in a peculiar way.
Instead of seeing them all the time on the screen, you'll have just their heads and such on the lower left part of the screen.
No, unfortunately there is no art gallery.. but trust me, and take a peek at the screenshots.. this game really stands out for what concerns backgrounds and artwork. Way less about the characters, even because.. there's only few of them xD
Yeah, it's a short visual novel as you may have understood..
In fact, the story tells us about Aya and Jeremy, the latter one being the "angel" of the game's title. There will be other characters going through the story, although these two will be the main focus - you'll see the other angels and characters, always portrayed as I wrote above, by reading.
The game will become a little bit more than ordinary, although nothing's so surprising or new if you've played tons of previous visual novels.. it will take something like two hours in all, but it's worth it since the beginning with only the two main characters arguing about what to do and how Jeremy got there :P
I mean, really, the artwork is so beautiful (I don't know who created all those images and so on, credits to them anyways, I don't think they're here illegally xD) that you'll be enjoying two hours of your life by simply keeping this game full-screen and watching the characters pop up, talk and progress while looking at dozens of awesome backgrounds!
If you're in the mood of a light-hearted visual novel with nice artwork and with a somehow interesting story based on teenagers, romance, angels, demons and so on.. go for this one!
I really loved it how they managed, especially towards the end, to render everything without character sprites or whatever else. It's written very well (though it's available only in English - the language option is still locked in the main menu), definitely.
The achievements will all unlock upon ending the story, no matter if you skip or do whatever you want.
Oh, and don't be fooled with the tags and such.. no nudity or sexual content here. I still have to understand how they work.
Probably they're there to attract more customers, I don't know.. this game can be found in bundles and everywhere else for some bucks.
Anyways, if you like a nice teen story with the usual anime/Japanese contents but with something new and interesting with the theme of Jeremy being an angel bringing with him Aya with that little bit of supernatural element (the two worlds, the other angels, the Demon etc.).. which is of course no news in any visual novel but anyways.. the story's nice, artwork are great, everything's enjoyable and we've got a little visual novel that will keep us here for 2 hours if we like the genre. Why not?

Angel's Love is a decent kinetic novel to mainly be bought under the guise of wanting 100 achievements. This is not a interactive visual novel so you will not have any choices or branching dialogue. There are more than a few issues I have with this title, but seeing it launched with a sale that made it close to a dollar; it's honestly a bit forgivable. I will still lay out some of my issues and thoughts. For around the price of a candy bar you can probably skip this week you'll get some achievements and an okay story. There isn't anything that makes the game unplayable.

The characters have different sounding dialogue noise if they are male or female. This is an interesting choice for a novel type game that I don't see often. However the progression noise can get stuck sometimes and repeat while you are clicking through the story. The music is nice an fitting at first; however, it plays the same song through out the entire novel and it not at all fitting in many moments. The characters models are nice but you never see them in the typical over the background format making the background feel obsolete. Even if you would pay attention to the backgrounds you would notice they are stock images (commercially available images). You can also see remnants of a dropbox around some characters. For the dialogue it is nice to be able to go forward and backwards. There are some minimal issues with the text such as having an extra letter randomly in between words. Sometimes the text is in all caps and often times when it does this, the text runs outside the boundary of the text box. There are many achievements in this game that you get spammed at the end; they all work so that's a plus.

The story will take you a little under an hour to read. It's nothing really spectacular but for a low price I wasn't expecting a moving and gripping tale. My main issue with the story is the progression. It starts out really fast being introduced to character after character every ten to fifteen lines; than it seems to slowly trudge through the rest. Still it's a somewhat okay world to read about for a short amount of time.

In the end you can pick this up on a sale and only a really nice one for 100 steam achievements and an acceptable enough kinectic novel. There are better ones out there even for free, but this works and isn't the worst thing you can do with an hour of time. It's a recommendation that is very on the fence so buy it at you own expense understanding that it will be a short mediocre story with 100 easy achievements.

The story is lacking, overall very short and the images look likemostly free use stuff from some photo sharing website. I would not recomend paying more the 0.50 for this game if you are still interested in buying it.

So it's a basic human/angel love story with angelic/demonic/wizzard battles, and a fairly complicated plot due to the high character count. I really feel quite neutral about the story, it is what it is, pretty standard. Felt a bit tedious at times. Some interesting characters that could have been explored further....but wasn't. No real artwork, but nice photo like backgrounds. OK music. No branching so no replayability, ahievement hoarders will smile. Short. Pretty. Yeah....moving on. 5/10
