Seriously though, I was looking forward to this. When I saw the 26MB download, I knew I couldn't expect much. And good lord is this game a stinker.

Music = trash, graphics = trash, GAMEPLAY = TRASH.

Not entirely sure how this is a curling simulation game. Lots of basic rules are missing. For example, rocks remain in play after hogline violations, which are common since the controls are bad; really easy to call really bad line. Setting the weight of stones is fairly easy, but setting the curl is not. I hope that the controls as well as the most basic of curling rules can be fixed in future releases because the current state of the game, at the time of this reviewing, is not very good.

As the only non-VR curling game on steam, its kinda functional so i guess that's cool. Sweeping the rocks control like youre steering a truck, which is wacky but sorta hilarious. Dont expect much, but it's decently playable for a 3$ game.

This is essentially a demo. The game feels very incomplete and as others mentioned the controls are not all that great. There is no tutorial - you essentially pick a country to represent and name your team, then you are tossed right into competition. However, it only took all of five minutes to realize that the only control you want to set is the power meter before throwing your stone, and sweeping as it slides down the ice, which actually changes the direction of the stone rather roughly, like moving a tetris block back and forth. Which of course means it actually doesn't simulate the effect of sweeping all that well, or curling for that matter.

You don't get to play a full game, and in fact are limited to two ends, with the highest points determining the winner of each game. You might occasionally get a third end to play if the AI manages to tie the score in one end. As a result you can get through all three tournaments provided in about an hour if you don't take too much time deciding on your shots. There doesn't seem to be much difference among the AI teams which are weak at best and can be easily defeated.

That being said, I did enjoy playing through the three tournaments in the hour and a half I spent in the game (especially after I turned the single track of repeating music off). This is a game I wish I could recommend because it does have the potential to be at least a half decent game, but needs quite a bit more development. Multi-player would actually be a boon as well. Unfortunately, it appears that the devs have no interest in further rounding out the game and really making it a genuine arcady-type simulator. As a result, I cannot recommend it at it's full price. However, I got with with a Simulation bundle during the Summer sale, and feel like I at least can get my $1.49 worth out of a couple of play sessions.
