Getting hit because of lag WAY too often.
Pretty consistently i'm getting hit by bullets that very clearly miss on my client. It's gotten to the point where i'm losing because of other player's bad connections. It's not an issue with my ping because it never goes above 40. Rapidly starting to lose my patience with the game because of shoddy hit detection, it should be the number 1 priority in a pvp game to make sure the combat is locked down. I know that there are margins built into the netcode to make players do less damage based on their ping, but losing armor chunks is often a life or death scenario and is unacceptable.

In a game without hitscan weaponry, this is a really difficult dilemma to solve. Either the victim is going to feel cheated, because "that bullet clearly missed", or the attacker is going to feel cheated, because "that bullet clearly hit". There is no solution that will prevent both.

In this case, the developers decided to base damage off whether the bullet hits on the attacker's game or not. This goes both ways. You will get hit by bullets that clearly missed on your game. You will hit other people with bullets that clearly missed on their game. I prefer this approach, compared to damage only occurring if my bullet hits for them, and not me.

It sucks, but it's just kind of an inevitability with online multiplayer.

And the game does decrease damage when it knows someone's ping is too high.
It sounds like you think you're disadvantaged by having a better ping than other players - I assure you that's not the case. You might have the odd rare weird hit but you are definitely at the advantage with a faster connection. Go and play on a different region server and give yourself a nice high ping and see how hard it is :)
