[BUG] Random Stutters / Hiccups (FIXED)

Hi, I've been playing this game for quite sometime, enough to start to really get upset about this problem, and decided to make a post here..

So every now and then I get a random hiccup where everything freezes, this can vary between 1s to 3s and, as you can imagine, that's really annoying when it happens in a middle of a firefight.. I've lost games because of this and it happened recently (reason why I decided to come here)..

I've noticed that it usually happens when there's a player close to my location, don't know how close but I always know that whenever these stutters happen there's someone nearby, you would think that this is good since it alerts me of someone close but most often than not it gets me killed by said someone.. I've lost counts of how many times this stutter happened just to come back already dead by the player who just crossed the corner and probably saw me just standing there like an idiot..

I also play in the Asia server BTW, if that helps narrow it down..

Forgot to say, I also tried changing resolutions, playing with v-sync On and Off, removing damage numbers and none of them actually did anything, I play on a Acer Nitro 5 as well so I can chuck this being a problem with my laptop off the window too..

FIX: Install the game on the main C: drive and not in any alternative HD.

In the past couple days, a handful of people had issues with stutters in the game, they fixed it with upgrading their nvidia gpu driver.

A quick look at your model tells me that it also has a Nvidia card, so I'd recommend trying that. :)

OK I will check that up once I am off work, thanks for the tip, will only be able to confirm this 7 hours later but it's worth the shot!

Nope, stutter still happens.. Just lost on top3 because I crossed a corner against a guy with an SMG and the stutter happened..

Don't know if you fixed it. But I was having a similar issue. I set my game to full screen and turned off v sync, then set the fps limiter to my monitors refresh rate which is 165. This so far has seemed to eliminate the problem. Maybe give it a try. My sister has a nitro 5 so I might be able to test if that is the issue.

Already tried both fullscreen and v-sync options and I keep the refresh rate on 60

Forgot to also mention that my laptop has upgraded ram, it's 16gb

Turns out my fix doesn't seem to make a difference either. Was fine for me a few games then it returned. Sorry it didn't help.

So.. This is weird but I kinda figured what was happening but it makes no sense..
So I was watching a video on Youtube with the game on the background so I muted the Music, when I came back to play I forgot to turn it back on and I played an entire match without stuttering, I played a couple more and no stuttering at all.. Turn the music back on and, yup, the stutter is back.. So turning the Music OFF fixed it(?)

Makes no sense since the only 2 songs (as far as I am aware) that this mute is the main menu and the theme song on the Welcome Center so.. WTF?!

quite strange the the audio is the possible cause for the stuttering, is it just this game that has that problem?

could be audio driver related, do you use onboard audio or any extra sound cards?

I have an Acer Nitro 5, not a desktop
Like I said, makes no sense.. No other game this happens and I am quite confused.. Even if it was an audio driver problem it shouldn't do any stutter.. The audio would be weird or muted but stutters?! Anyway, I am glad it's fixed..

Still stutters when weather changes tho but that isn't much of an issue since it's quite rare and the stutter is just 0.5 seconds anyway..

Well I have a AMD GPU with freesync, I desactivated it, enhanced sync too, I activated Vsync on the game and that was the solution for me

Shouldn't revive this old thread, I made a newer one with a better solution, my problem was actually the fact that I installed the game on the D: drive instead of the C: drive, once I reinstalled the game on the main drive the game no longer stutters for me.
