Better to end your casters as conjurer/magician instead of sorcerer/wizard?

I seem to remember it was better to have them end as sorcerer and wizard because of HP and SP per level and items they could equip.

But I could be wrong, I mean it was nearly 30 years ago I last played this in depth. I think I originally ended them as conjurer/magician because I wanted those sorcerer and wizard spells right away but seem to remember realizing they're better as the other two. I can't really remember why though.

This is no longer true in the remaster. It used to be that conjurers/magicians would gain levels faster than sorcerers/wizards/archmages, and those additional levels would more than offset the additional HP and spell resistance that wizards/etc. gain per level. But now everyone gains 1 level per 100K XP after level 13.

You want to end on the "highest" class you can, because not only will you get more HP, you'll also get slightly better spell resistance.

Hmm ok since I don't know the remaster yet, does that mean 1 sorcerer + 1 wizard (I run two casters) or 2 wizards?

Wizards wear the best equipment in BT1, and all casters level the same after lvl 13 now. So it's best to end them as wizards

In bt1, if you end as a conjurer, you can not use the spectre snare. (Huge AC boost for mage)

But then, as soon as you transfer them over to BT2, you will change them to Archmages anyway :-)

Would be nice an Indication if a Caster Class can not learn any new Spell, thus would be wise to change.
I do remember those L13 change, but was not sure about Sorcerers, if it is 13 too (or higher).
