Report a translation problem
When the map freaks out at night I find it very disorientating and feel you may as well disable the map altogether for those times. And to be fair all I have to do is quickly look at the map on the journal page to see which way I am facing etc.
I say have the map as fully working for those who want to use it, sort of like the assistance you get in modern flight Sims that can be optionally turned off, such as infinite ammo, assisted engine etc. Or at least like you say in dungeons only would be better. :)
