If you have a save around the area where dopplegangers are joining your party and locking up the game, would probably be the easiest way for us to repro it.. If you do, please send to support@kromestudios.com.

Detail: Whenever a shapeshifter invades the party, when you kill either it or your party member it is duplicating, the game function fully freezes. Music keeps playing, spell animations carry on... but the "Press Space to continue" for the end of the turn is completely non-functional - the game hard locks in the end of turn sequence somehow.

As I have been religiously avoiding shapeshifters since then, or majorly overkilling the ones I can't run from, no... I don't have a save file in the vicinity of one - on that note, are the spawn point monsters generated when the area/level loads or are they generated when you trigger the combat?

Because with option 1, I can potentially find one and provide you a save file... if it's option 2, it would simply be roulette... Russian, as it were.

EDIT: I have found that as long as I run away before the shapeshifter is the final enemy of the fight, I can continue adventuring... obviously I lose the loot and xp for that fight... but better that one fight then everything since last I saved :(

Monsters are generated at the moment of the combat, so its more that a saved game gives me all the info about your current party, and any game modes (legacy settings) you might have set, and if its any specific doppleganger thats doing it...

Are you playing in standard mode, or with any legacy settings?

Sounds nasty. Just tested it here and I'm not getting an issue. Do you have any more details on when and what happened....
If you have a save around the area where dopplegangers are joining your party and locking up the game, would probably be the easiest way for us to repro it.. If you do, please send to support@kromestudios.com.

UPDATE 3.28

Fix ground shader to support fog AND shadows
Fix song descriptions - was always showing legacy descriptions, even with legacy mode disabled.
Fix bug where failing an apar to another level would reset all the events on the current level.
Fix bug where automap wasn't showing traps/combat for maps other than the current one.
Don't let the party leave arboria/ferofists if hawkslayer is carrying the quest items.
Fix journal icon to not activate consistent with other icons - not in buildings & during events.
Fix transfer between levels not setting up the shop items properly.
Add ui tutorial (from bt1 and bt2) to BT3

yeah, that is intentional. That legacy mode is pretty hardcore reverting features (for better or worse) to the original.

All the "special effects" were not revealed in the originals. You could fined some of it out from the Sage in BT2 but thats about it.

its always a value call what need to be reverted, but we tend to err on the side of what was in the originals for that particular Legacy Mode.

we've probably just missed a few. Will look into them and update for the next patch.

The VITALITY Spell of the Chronomancer does not work: the healing of 4-8 is not multiplied with the level of the caster.

Unable to reproduce this. I cast vitality at lv1 and it did 7 points of healing. I cast at level 20 and it did around 160+ points of healing.

-- FOTA range - wither range is 20' and sandstorm range is 90' meaning that the spell has an effect on any enemies at 90' range, even though it will only do damage to 20' range.
kiels overture combat usage fixed - now uses up songs remaining.

Hawkslayer leaves the party permanently when you teleport back to the wilderness.

I think this is a bug: In Cierra Brannia town, I go to the temple after a fight. I let heal the entire party. After that, all hitpoints are at maximum. No conditions (i.e. "old") are visible anymore.
nevertheless, for two characters, the temple still wants to heal ("they are in a bad shape indeed") at very high prices (10-15k)! this makes no sense.

I'm unable to reproduce this. Could you please email me a saved game to support@kromestudios.com where the temple wants healing for no obvious reason.

UPDATE 3.26

Fix hide in shadows range issues - wasn't able to attack if advanced past the enemy...
Surgery to UseItem in combat to fix UnequippedItems legacy not letting you use any unequipped item in combat.
Fix a couple of missing messages before combats in mangar and fanskar.
Fix problem where dead characters could find items in treasure.
Add feedback to how many items you have on the Inventory option.
Fix the new HIDE status now gets reset if you run from combat.
Fix roscoes individual inventory issues
- identify was overlapping text, not charging money, and getting stuck
Fix witherfist and horn of death special damage.
Luck chant now correctly improves spell chance to hit.
Lucklaran and spellsong (remaster mode) now improve spell chance to hit.
Fix difficulty level of bt3 cities.
Fix brillhasti archmage experience points.
Fix immunities - unless monster was immune to all mediums of a spell (like Magic)
remove some spamming
Fix illusion monsters were not being created as illusions
Improve the text feedback on casting disbelief and disrupt illusion spells.
Fixed deathhorn now sounds like horn, not mandolin
Fix damage of black arrows and make them attack whole group. Intentionally still requires a bow as we feel this is more intuitive (unlike original game that implemented black arrows as just a usable magic item).
Turn off the range display on torches and lamps to be consistent with other light spells.

Fix summoned monster inventory size to match character size for the game/legacy settings
Fix bt1 legacy - party monsters were able to attack groups C & D.
Fix war axe cannot be used at range in bt1
Fixed arrows cannot be 'used' without a bow equipped.
Fix some journaling issues where some places were being written to the scroll rather than just the journal.
Need sorcerer sight to see crumbling walls on the automap.
Clear the message scroll on turning
Cats eye no longer ignites explosive gas
Remove quest items from garths on transfer.
Black arrows can now stack to 30
Fixed cases where arrows could be used without a bow equipped.
Speed up treasure finding - can feel a bit broken...
