So all "mines" are useless ?

you have to craft a "Oil Pump" from the "Metal Work Bench" and run it with "Coal" that you can farm around the world, "Black Rocks" that lay around the Ground, with a "Pick Axe" then after a while the "Oil Pump" will give you Oil, that you can feed into your "Gold Mine" so that you can Go underground and Harvest "Mine-able Nodes" (Gold Silver Iron Stone Etc etc) then when you're finished you take the Mine Shaft back to the Surface.

Depends on which Gold Mine you made. The Mine takes oil. The Mine Shaft that has Gold too takes a donkey but you have to move the donkey near the wheel and attach it. Once you do it starts moving around moving the wheel. Then you approach the cart and you get a E to enter

Mines are also a pain in the a55 in single player. I have entered my goldmine twice to mine for ore, silver and gold. Both times, I came out to find that the game had deleted my horses. I'm not using the mines anymore until they fix this.

This happened to me also, for my favorite horse at the time. I left the horse standing very near the mine entrance, so I have to wonder if that had something to do with it.

Also, there was a bug in my game where I called the horse inside the mine by accident, and when I exited the mine, I recalled my horse, and was instantly given like 88 levels to my horse. That horse is very powerful right now, to say the least. :steamhappy:

It effects not just the horses but all animals. Lost my sheep too. What I did notice is that a horse I had some ways away from the mine left in a barn was still there. So it may have a distance or the barn might be the solution to the mine problem.

You probably left your horses on follow. Then they follow you when you are not there and wander off. Just like you lose a horse in tow if you ride off too fast. It wanders off. You can go find it sometimes.. Try setting them to stay or tie them up. I have never lost a horse in a mine.
