Can i get pumpkins without growing them???

I am in year 1 fall and plowing along quite nicely and now receiving pumpkin recipes to supply or pumpkins as a quest but I have been to pumpkin island and checked out the forest but ohh not a pumpkin in sight i can pick up.....mhmm

I didnt want to waist my energy on crops right now but i am getting to the stage now i can hardly avoid it.......

I am already forced into taming animals right now so doing that slowly so i dont forget.....

I had that problem too and ended up having to buy pumpkins from the vendor that sells them on Halloween island. Never had any pumpkins show up in the forest to harvest anywhere. I would've grown them but I waited too long just trying to find them wild.

Was that in Year 1?? I have been to pumpkin island and the only thing i can buy is pumpkin coins.......not pumpkins....I have been around the forest and none there either so either I am missing something or I have not yet activated a building or something or wrong year......not sure.........now i am closing in on winter.......pfft

What plants show up in the wild is partly a function of how many building upgrades you've purchased from Frank. That's definitely true of flowers but I'm not sure if it applies to pumpkins as well. If you have very few upgrades, it's possible pumpkins won't appear.

Yes I'm in Year 1 as well. The wiki says Jonas is the vendor selling pumpkins, along with pumpkin seeds. I feel like the first time I visited I couldn't buy pumpkins either but when I went again when Fall was almost over I was able to. Don't know if I was just oblivious the first time or if you have to go there more than once, but check with Jonas.

Thanks for that, i am already in winter now so looks like I will be growing them.......LOl
