How do I use the skins you can find in trunks or buy from the vendor?

Either put them on your hotbar and hit E when they are active, or hit ESC, going into customize character and there is a activate all skins button there you can use.

There are two ways. You can put them in the hot bar and press 'E' like when you use a tool OR you can open the skin menu via esc > change skins and clicking 'Unlock all Skins' (or something similiar) at the bottom of the skins window

That skin is the Kitsune skin, and if you wait around long enough, you'll eventually see Splash selling it as one of his available skins for 50,000.

It could be a long time before you see it, so if you want it always make sure you have at least that much on you at all times. I personally was actively looking for that skin for almost a full in-game year (120 days) before I saw it up for sale.
