Weird Statue/Altar?

So I decided to glide over to the island in the south east corner of the map, I noticed what looked like small circle steps and a small island next to it, I go there and see a few NPCs and behind them is what looks like a altar, it has a red symbol that points upwards and also a stone under it with the same symbol. Is this a secret or is there a purpose behind it that any one has found out about yet?

You found Dev Island. It's just a fun little thing the devs added to find. Those three npc are supposed to be them :3

Ah I was curious about it, only reason I kind of flew over there before seeing on the map the tiny small island, was I thought I saw a head over there and was like, is there some one on that island? xD

I still think there's something fishy about that altar tho LOL
