Anyone worked out how to catch a utterfly. I have a clean bottle equiped and been standing on the rise near the pond by the house and they dont come near enough to do anything.

I jumped in the air, pressed the button and got mine that way.

You have to be patient with them. I catched mine on the same spot, jumped with the glider from across the hill a few times and tried it from the horse back, got the butterfly like that.

I haven`t caught one yet, but I have tried waiting, jumping and using the glider. But I can`t seem to glide very far or high.
If you're still looking for tips, you can also place a trampoline under the butterflies :lunar2019piginablanket:

i like to stand on higher ground and glide down to a butterfly across from me.

Build a platform and ramp with some foundations where you see butterflies.

I caught one using a glider and one jumping. it's WAY easier to place a floor
at the level where they are flying.

good idea!

If you can build in the area, place a ramp / roof tile piece or two to intercept the butterfly's path.
Jump and glide is good if you can't build.
If you don't have a glider, stand on the ridge of grass by the left hand side bridge. Watch the butterfly, it does 2 circles, one is low enough to catch when you jump and press [E]
Also you can climb the roots of the giant tree in the forest, from there you can reach some of the butterflies. Start on the root that just has it's tip in the pond, then keep jumping.
There is another easy one to get outside Robert's house. Stand on the railings by his front door and one of the 2 butterflies there flies right past your head.

3 ways : glide, build or ride a bear. The last is the best for catching bees.

hose jumpy blue (or red) mushrooms from the trade shop may help, too. You can quickly place them near and hop higher
