Grids

I just started playing this game and turned the grids on in the options menu per the letter from the grandparents for organizing the garden and I read a post that said to press alt for grid pattern so I did that with the hoe in my hand but that didn't place a grid on the ground for digging the hole so how do I get the grid pattern to function?

Is there a specific spot in the yard where the garden is suppose to be planted for grids to work? The chicken coop got placed on top of my flower bed so I dug new holes next to it but can't make a grid.

No. If you have the grids turned off in options, you can hold down alt and get the grid functionality. But you won't actually SEE a pattern show up anywhere. Instead, if you try hoeing the ground, the spots will be perfectly spaced like on the corners of a square.

And as far as I know, you can plant the garden anywhere you like. But I haven't actually tested beyond the immediate-ish area of the house.

Okay thanks, I thought I could make grid squares for the holes, my camera seems to work better with the grids turned off
