Crazy class combo
I've read a couple of posts about the best class combos, and I'm surprised I haven't seen the one I like best.
Assault/heavy with vengeance torso and propeller legs, focused on melee.
I know it sounds nuts, but last night I dominated with this thing, and now it's all I want, haha. I killed 8 units in a single turn, and went from one end of the map and back, all in that single turn.

You can get 2ap back for each kill from Rapid Clearance. You can Dash and Rocket Leap to cover large distances quickly. Each melee attack only takes 1ap from Combat Matrix. 50% increased damage from Brawler. One gain an extra ap each kill because of Inspire. So essentially, you can use 1ap to get to a unit, kill it in 1 ap, and still have full ap, so rinse and repeat. Considering melee weapons hit so hard, you can kill most in 1 hit, but if not then just 2. The only real possibility of countering it is large distances between targets, which usually isn't a problem.

There is no such thing like best combo, but I would say `assault` as base class is quite good option. The only exception maybe - sniper+heavy for jetpacks + grenade launcher. I didnt play much melee builds until the end game, so not sure tbh.

assault + heavy = shotgun + grenade launcher, skills combo crazy as well
assault + infiltrator = shotgun + bow/spiders, strong scout spamming spiders if needed.
assault + technician = spam turrets for free (assaults skills), pure build for turrets only. Crazy damage output vs fat enemies. Deploy 8 turrets, Scylla will not forget you.

For snipers its 50/50 i woulds say, I personally found heavy + sniper combo was my style (War Cry, jet pack, grenade launcher).

Keep in mind, with final boss you will need non melee weapon. I didnt try melee, but it didnt look like it was possible to punch it.

This is not a new discovery. It's actually a very well known meta. Literally the single best unit in the game, especially against other human factions.

I once cleared a very hard story mission (that even allows deployment of up to 9 soldiers, which ONLY happens for very special missions) in like 2 turns with a guy like that. He just massacred the map, like a twisted game of checkers.
It's honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken, but i don't think we can do something about it with severaly nerfing either Vengeance Torso or Rapid Clearence.

There is an even better classcombo, that does the same.

Assault+berserker with bloodlust sitting at 1% hp. It does pretty much everything the heavy/assault does.
Just with +49% movement, another +2 Speed from using the berserker chest, the ability to shoot at range for 1 ap (which is quiet handy vs myrmidons) and with strongman and a deceptor you can deal 600dmg/1ap before you unlock the scyther.
And you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get the overpriced vengeance torso.

With the DLC's you get so much phoenixxp, that you can spend them on 3-4 of them, so they are also ironman viable, despite the fact, that they get oneshot by everything.
