Q: effects of skipping the initial Pure mission

While no plan survives contact with the enemy, I'm already laying out my next campaign with the upcoming DLC and update, and I'd like some clarification regaring the very first Pure mission (I'll be going for NJ victory and would rather not take the -8 opinion hit right in the beginning - in my last game it seemed to effect all NJ havens and I had to get into the factions 20s or so just to be able to trade/recruit with NJ havens again).

So if I refuse (or let just time-out) the Pure-'sponsored' attack on a NJ haven, will that have any effect on me getting access to bionics?

I think it will delay getting access to bionics a bit. Strangely, if you make good with New Jericho and Synedrion, you will get access to their advanced bionics before you get the basic bionics. You WILL get access to bionics eventually though.

If you skip the bionics missions you can still acquire the tech, but you have to get friendly with the factions since each one has a piece of the tech in their tree and you either have to wait for them to finish it or get the highest status and research it yourself. If you do the missions you just get it unlocked immediately.
