Generating Materials and Parts
Why not give players the ability to generate a small amount of resources (Materials and Parts) via special rooms in their base? At the very least a player should be able to convert an amount of Materials into Parts per Day/Month.

This is something I would like too. I think a modder who knows how to mess with dll's would be able to do it. I was thinking of the fabrication building producing a small amount of materials and the research lab producing a small amount of tech.
When you are not producing or researching (haha) then you produce more.
Maybe make a mod request?

I can't even find the bloody food production facility so I can build the damn thing. But I'm guessing it's to foster trading with the other havens. Because if you always produce food, you can always go trade for whatever else you want.

The result though is that for now you have to constantly trade. which is a bit boring.

The "bloody food production facility" is an Anu tech. On older game version you have it from the start (if I remember correctly) for now it was moved to Anu tech tree.

As above. In early versions of the game you could build this food facility from day 0 and set yourself up as a food baron. (which tbh makes sense in terms of the state of the world).

In the latest version there are 2 ways to get food buildings/upgrades both locked behind rep/research.

Oh yeah, forget to mention the research, that gives you the abbiliti to harvest captured Pandorans for food.
I have a vision, where my operatives chasing a paniced Arthron with boiling hot watter, yelling: "CRAB MEAT!" or "COME HERE TASTY MEAT!"
GROOSE! XD

There are resources management and development plan to do, it's not adding automatic income that will improve the gameplay. Food income was no way that big, some players even did the math showing the absurd amount of time to get the investment back.

Oh? Crap, now the only way to get easy food is to capture the buggers? Eeek. The food production facility is no more?

No, you can still get it (just not from the start). You need to get the research from the Anu (by stealing or through diplomacy).

Anyway, good news! There is now a mod that has fabrication/research facilities produce materials/tech now. It is in the nexus mods called "Assorted Adjustments". Wonderful eh.

You can get it, but it costs way more than you will get back from it in any reasonable time (53 days to break even). So you shouldn't.

I don't think the game needs a way to generate materials and tech daily. If anything it should be tied to trading, which also needs changes.

I agree. Kinda hard to save the world without being self-sufficient, especially when the world is dying around you.

Why do the resource values have a (+0) next to them if there's no way to get a passive income from them then?
Fringehunter7719 Dec 30, 2020 @ 5:37pm
You can get passive incomes in food and mutagens, I'd assume it's for the sake of consistency.
