Scorpion Sniper Rifle

I saw the Scorpion Sniper Rifle which I like to acquire, but it requires three resources that I do not know how to get. I must have missed the descriptions/dialogues on getting them. I sided with the New Jericho faction; is it too late to acquire the resources? That is, I would not be able to trade with the enemy faction that owns these resources. Thanks in advance for your reply.

those resources require you to build archeology probes, and find both a mine and a refinery.

You launch them from your planes, and if there are any in the area you pick, they'll find it. the Mines need a plane with at least one soldier in it to produce the resources, while you just have to control the refineries. it IS a really tough fight to gain control though.

I got the 3 resources and one site that says "Required for manufacturing" but when I try to make the weapons it keeps telling me I need the processing site. The only weapon I'm able to make is the stick. Are there multiple sites that are needed for building these things?

There are sites that produce the resource and other sites that process it. You need both to make the weapons.

The whole system is tedious and annoying.

My issue is I've almost covered the globe with probes and I can't find the remaining sites. Unless they are on Hawaii or the Galopagos Islands.
