TFTV : Bases attacks are insane
Just to say. Experienced my first base attack. Went there with 9 soldiers quiet well equiped, received insane waves of pandorans, swarms of myrmidons and sirens from everywhere. when I arrived the base was already totally infiltrated with fast reinforcements because if I understand the new mechanics when a base is attacked the ennemies enter the base during the coutdown and spread all over inside....
Quiet frustrating experience. Not the fight but this concept who changes base defense to base reconquest, who is totally different. To avoid that we have only 12h who is ridiculous in the large scale of the planet.
Why changing that ? Base defense was interesting, add better content doesn't necessary mean to ruin what is already fun in the game...
Dropped the game, don't want to waste time building an uber-team in every far base. Non-sense.

One aspect of TFTV is, akin to XCOM LW, to make the game more challenging.

I don't like Festering Skies, so I haven't installed TFTV yet. "...swarms of myrmidons..." sounds to this cancer-survivor and casual gamer as amusing as having an extra week or six of chemo.

Other folks seem to have few or no issues. We all have different skill levels. And just because I don't like it does not make it bad.

I will try to explain. Base defense was totally irrelevant in vanilla, very few attacks and lot of time, also deployment trivial, bottleneck, set on fire and overwatch one corridor, done!

In TFTV you have to think further, you can't just expand and forget about Lairs, Citadels in range, because now you can suffer the consequences.

But, you have Security Stations providing more soldiers, garrison at base, did you build those?

Also in tactical, you can deploy your soldiers/vehicle in vehicle bay or entrance, you choose. And yes, there are strats, up to four in Etermes, less in lower dif. levels.

How do you counter? Well, you have three consoles, two of them next to vehicle bay, so activating it you damage a bit the energy generator but you prevent one strat triggering.

It's about tactics and preparation, and not easy at all, but not impossible.

Finally I didn"t drop it.... I like that game anyway :steamhappy:
Tried again, started on the elevator at upper level. Was much better but yes very hard.
You right Aguilar, much more challenging. Finally got them.
Yes, I have a lift and a security station, who helped alot because the mobs focused them for the first 2 turns so I had time to progress to the sentinel. As soon as we get the sentinel, of course it's easy to finish because it stops the reinforcements waves...
