Report a translation problem
You need to arm and equip your soldiers in the base and on your aircraft beforehand, before the attack is initiated. You cant equip anyone when you get the base attack screen, it's like an ambush.
Yes that's a bug, reload a save and try again. Save the game a couple hours before the attack.
So you have a total of 14 soldiers and a buggy? Should be easy.
If you're on ironman you might be screwed as far as saves go
But I also don't trust my Dell hardware, Microsoft Windows 10 OS, or Phoenix Point software enough to avoid the unfortunate situation above. Stuff can go sideways very quickly.
But anyway what I noticed again.
On my succesful attemp I had a spawning sentinel insteal of the horror one - much easier.
Enemy was reinforced 2-3 times not every round.
Reinforcment would consist of one siren 4-5 mindfragers. Another time it would be 2 umbras.
On my failed attemp, pandorians got around 10 myrmydions 7 of them being acid, lets stop here for a bit.
Acid myrmydion is a guy who has 320hp, 25-30mobiliry, does acid damage,can fly and explodes with 150acid damage.
This guy can fly over your overwatch,can travel a distance of 14-15 tiles and hit you twice hard + acid. If it get to you you need to break your formation in order to kill it from a distance. Heavies cannot run away far enough and shoot without getting splashed. Assault can run away but will not kill it, snipers same as heavy.
It is faster than you, you cannot run away. It takes a group effort and concentrated fire to kill one. And I talk about ONE, not 7!!
The enemy reinforcment mechanic is so random. You can get a wave of 15 worms or 10 myrmydions or 2 umbras. So unbalanced, making no sense.
And I still do not get how the mission was "extreme" with new jericho wall research done.
1) War Cry. Imagine a skill with large range that deletes 1 AP, it'd be an amazing skill. Warcry removes 2 AP for 3 will points. That's half the enemy turn, and if they move a single tile they can't do anything more than 1AP. It's busted and the enemy action economy is over tuned because warcry is overtuned. Once enemies reach combat range they should be permanently locked down by this skill.
2) Neurazer is a vastly under appreciated tool. Paralysis is pretty good yo. Every 25% deletes 1 AP and it stacks with war cry. Don't waste effort trying to weaken enemies before stunning them. That's doing twice the work. Charge in, war cry, zap each target once or twice, and the battle is over. Exploding enemies don't explode if they don't die.
I found that disabling torso might help. Still difficult to hit though.
In a base defense mission, all of the enemies generate inside the Access Lift.
There is a choke point that you can throw fire grenades in.
Sounds like you have arthrons that are touched by the void with the special ability to call in reinforcements? Always more Arthrons and Myrmidons.
Yes acid myrmidons are the biggest headache of all the enemies.
Once the enemy attacks your base you have 19 hours to react. If you react right away you will defend the choke point.
But if you wait for too long the base gets infiltrated and the infestation process begins. Your team will have to fight off pandorians from the inside.
I do not know if there is any other type of defense mission, well theee are also fully infested bases.
Reinforcnents:
There are events during the base defence that bring fresh forces to pandorians.
-Umbraa or tritins
-Worms or myrmidions
-Strike team ( 4-5 )triton on your back.
Those can happen every turn the way to stop them from happening is by moving your soldiers to consoles. This will create an explosion and damage your generator. I might send some pics later.

What do you mean, move them to consoles? Do they press a button or activate something?
What good would blowing up your power generator do? The pandorans can be anywhere in the base, not next to the generator
