There is an UI element on top of your screen that shows how many you scored so far and how many left.
Once you score enough - Behemoth will seize activity, chill around for a little bit longer and then just leave, only to reappear couple days later in another place and do the whole routine again.
Behemoth's Takedown mission is gated by research, which in its' own turn is gated by another golden path research. So in order to take him out - you need to make some major progress on primary objectives and research into origin and purposes of Pandoravirus.
Once your research department will have enough data - a new research project into new Masked Manticore Aircraft will become available, the only aircraft capable of safely approaching behemoth. From then the only things left to do is to craft that aircraft, put your best soldiers on it and there will be a special button available to initiate Behemoth Takedown Mission (fairly hardcore one too).
If you successfully beat that - Behemoth will die and cease all activities. Which means if you're not at war with any of the factions - you can safely disassemble all combat related aircraft modules and put those resources somewhere else.
At best people google it and find these topics as first search results.
EDIT: Found it - "search discussions" bar. Its literally just blacked out from my vision.
