How do you deal with Myrmidons?
I am really struggling with Acid Myrmidos (but I think venom variant is equally powerful).

320 HP total, 155 HP with 24 armour on torso, which is a bit much for direct attacks. Plus it's a small target.

42 movement with "take flight" ability (no idea what's the actual distance here), so it can quite quickly close the distance.

26 WP, which a bit too much for psychic abilities.

Trapping it in goo using Mutoids doesn't work, because they fly out of it (a bug?).

And their explode-on-death makes using melee impossible.

Do I really need 3-4 soldiers to deal with such one little guy, or is there some strategy or skill that I am not seeing?

Yeah, you just suffer through them, there is no magic trick besides trying to shoot out the torso to reduce the needed hp damage a bit.
Myrmidons really are pretty badly designed enemies.

Little known fact: Myrmydon's "Bite" attack comes from their TORSO.
If you destroy their torso (which is basically their entire body minus wings) - they will no longer be able to bite, which effectively eleminates them as a threat since they have no offensive actions outside of that.

After you do that - they usually just try to escape, or just hang around and go back-and-fourth hoping you'll be stupid enough to try and melee them or something.

But otherwise i do agree that its exceptionally f*cking stupid that a glorified dog-sized grasshoped has same HP as an elite Arhtron. It makes no sense to me... But it is what it is.

Many people find paralyzing them very effective. Sniper rifles work well too. Assault/shotguns work too just stay 5 or 6 tiles away. Once torso disabled you're all good.
Regular myrmidons can be melee'd as there is no explosion. Venemous myrmidons you can survive their explosion, you'll just need to use a medkit immediately after. Acid mymidons are the truly dangerous ones.

I like to hit them from far away or use paralysis and capture if close by so as not to be affected by the poison or acid the shoots out if they are killed and blow up. If you have not built a containment yet paralysis to stop them then let then have it from a distance.

Myrmidons can't be captured anyways

never knew that. so that is why they have not shown up in the captured screen. thought I just had to many captures and they were turned into glue.

they cant be captured, but paralyzing them eliminates from the battle them without explosions
