XP Shrinking the More I kill

Can anyone help me understand how XP works?? I've been in some that were super easy and I blow through them in a matter of minutes. I get upwards of like 80-100 at the top guys and like 40ish for the lower team members. But I just got done doing the hardest mission yet the massive fortress with the eye in the middle. Toke forever and I only got like 15xp to 20 for each guy LOL. I killed a ♥♥♥♥ ton and get less.......

XP is not related to kills at all. You get fixed amounts of Xp for every objective. Not the same for all objectives, it just doesn't matter how you achieve them or how many soldiers you bring. So for example specific mission will give you 300xp divided on all of your participating soldiers. Kills (and other actions) affect how much of the share a certain soldier gets.

All kinds of actions (receiving damage, healing damage, shooting, using skill, reaching white objectives on map, etc.) determine the percentage of XP received. But also, vehicles used changes that. Allied forces gained control of and used changes that. So if you took control of some of the mind-controlled haven defenders in that mission, they now too suck up XP percentage.

The XP limit is likely to counter reinforcement farming. Being fast gets you full XP, and being slow gets you full XP. There's little reason to stick around in any mission site.

There's always reinforcement loot farming of course. More loot more bank.
