Do you guys preffer Synedrion or NJ armor?
The XCOM alpha-striker in me wants that extra accuracy, but i just end up using NJ because it looks way better (IMHO) and because i do preffer at least some comfort in the idea that my soldiers have just that much extra armor to not get completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in worst case scenario.
Stealth isn't my thing anyway.

Although the assaults with Self Defense Specialist do tend to get a Syn's assault legs and body mixed with NJ's sniper helmet (which is just superior syn's assault helmet anyway) for getting that extra accuracy to hit those 44x4 bursts and secure a Rapid Clearence kill.
I basically treat them like covert SWAT units. The lads can clear a Pandoran Nest map by themselves using eggs as free AP farms.

Anu.
Everybody (except infiltrators of course) get's Anu leg armor for that sweet sweet +2 speed.
Anu Assault Armor, again has the Speed the NJ lacks and although strictly inferior to Syn with the +3% accuracy on those the buff is quite small and early on (when I manufacture most armor) I find the lowered cost and faster production time to be worth the trade off.
For helmets though NJ rules

I prefer the aesthetics of the NJ and Phoenix armour sets, so I usually build those

I prefer the more armor but the speed buff and some minor accuracy buffs are nice with the other armors. Buuut I prefer alive troopers then slightly better troopers

I like mixing it up. One for looks and the other to get the stats I want.

I do use Anu body/leg armor a ton for +4 speed and cheap costs.

On a heavy or heavy/sniper I use NJ Body with Tech legs and tech helmet. Tech armor is great for decent armor AND you get a very good accuracy boost. IMO far superior than using NJ or Phoenix Heavy legs/head. So instead of -8% accuracy you have +10% accuracy and lowered weight load on a Heavy for a slight decrease in armor

Full NJ is cool :D. Especially the heavy armor. It depends on the character and the playstyle. For my first squad I built Indie outfits, because they are cheap. I usually don't like building armors, so I mutate or augment soldiers, because you can do that instantly or buying soldiers, who come with a full armor.

NJ armor - only for heavies. For everything else either synedrion or anu. After midgame stuff hits for 70+ damage and those +4 armor you get from new jerico stuff will simply not help you. Additional problem - strongest damage at range potential lies in Sniper+Infiltrator combo, which require to stay hidden and actually hitting stuff.
Usually I combine NJ armor with Augmented bodyparts for maximum protection from harsh environments.
