Sniper Rifles and Field medic question
What is the 2nd best sniper rifle? Raven or Gungnir? I got Gungnir really late and had Scorpion by that time. Does the 80 Virophage damage stack with the regular damage doing 190? Does virophage get reduced by armor?

For the Technician, do I need to use the Mech Arms in order to do Field medic? If so I missed out on repairing limbs as I stupidly added neuro torso to all 5 of my techs at 5 bases

Do the medkits do anything for paralysis yet?

I want to play a 2nd game but will wait for Festering skies

Virophage is added extra damage and I don't believe it is affected by armor in anyway. But the normal damage should still be reduced.

Yes. You need mech arms for limb repairing.

Both.

The reason,
The Gungnir isnt effective against non Pandoran or Mutated enemies. So far less damage on those.

So a works on everything weapon means Raven.

Best for the situation Gungnir

Raven much better, since it is useful. I pass game 2 time both times Gungnir were made after Scorpion

Mhblis says that Gungnir is better than Raven against Pandorans...

If it become available after Scorpion how it can be useful?
Raven useful since 40% of game you play with this weapon.
Gungnir useless since you craft it one time only for make some test.

ok remember scorpion is dlc weapons so its order in the tech tree is separate and different, but its power is consider tier 3, while raven is consider tier 2 and gungnir can be consider 2.5

the dlc is suppose to give the player the choice to rush anicent weapons if they want to.

I usually end up bringing both a Gugnir and a Raven on each sniper. Later in the game you have enough strength to carry both, sometimes I even bring an Athena along as well

It seems to me that typically, player will get ancient weapons before either Gungnir or Raven. Ancient Weapons DLC really doesn't mesh well with rest of the tech tree. You could probably get first ancient weapon within first 2 weeks (where largest delay would be imposed by lab construction and excavation) if you really rushed it.

If we are to ignore ancient weapons, I'd say that best sniper rifle is the one you can get first, which in turn depends on your diplomatic stance towards New Jericho, which ending you are going after and which techologies you are focusing.

If we are to compare Gungnir and Raven ignoring everything else (tech tree requirements, manufacturing costs, ammo costs, diplomatic stance, etc.), I'd say Gunginir is better, mostly because I avoid raiding human factions (I'm playing as saviour of what's left of humanity, not as more efficient Abdon Tusk) so I'd rather take Anti-Pandoran rifle and keep Pythagoras for when I have to fight other humans.
