Worm launchers are also annoying. They just waste your time. They do sort have their use in mechanic if you want, but wasting actions on a stupid worm feels more tedious than anything.
The worst part is when they force me to restart the battle because one of the worm fell out of the map... I hate this.
i get you man, thos stupide worm launcher i wished they were just a heavy armored tank or a monster that lays worms under it like a mother on that spawns worm when dying instead, maybe with mods one day.
and yeah the ghost thing the first time i saw that i was like WTF bro ?? WHY how.. to be honest there is nothing much you can do, it will spawn and be able to use 4 action point on enemy turn, they have no weak points and all.. best you can do is over watch or stay far. usually i dont have3 a problem with them they are just a wtf monster that id lie to be removed aswell.
They do kind of suck, but now I know how to tell if something spawns them, it's fine. If the umbra spawning enemy can't be killed at super long range or up close but with plenty of soldiers to go on overwatch, I just shoot the weapons off the umbra spawner to make them a non-threat (shooting the weapons off the tougher non-poison spitter head anthrons is really effectively. The shield doesn't cover their pincer/gun arm, and if you remove that, they have no offensive abilities so they'll just retreat).
I saw the body was "preapring" and gamers instinct told me it was going to come back from the dead so I set up multiple overwatches pointed at it. None of them went off because overwatch is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this game and it killed a dude.
Yeah, I really just don't understand the balance of this enemy. Losing a soldier is already a pain in this game compare to X-com but if I have to start losing them to some random ♥♥♥♥ like that it gets frustrating.
